Got Padel is one of the first padel venues in Lincoln, with two indoor panoramic courts. The scheme involved a change of use of a building within a protected employment area, where councils generally expect sites to remain in business use and look closely at any proposal for an alternative use.
Padel Plan prepared a clear case showing that the building was suitable for indoor leisure use and that the proposal met the council's policy requirements. We addressed the council's concerns about the loss of employment space directly, setting out why the padel use was appropriate for the site and its surroundings.
The council accepted our case and granted planning permission, allowing our client to bring padel to Lincoln for the first time.
Protected employment areas can be a real barrier to new padel venues, but with a well prepared case they can often provide suitable buildings. Padel Plan combines specialist knowledge of padel developments with a detailed understanding of planning policy to secure permissions in locations where others might not try.
